Origin

nachpikin comes from the Lenape language, where it means “to be by nature”.

It speaks to living in harmony with the land, moving with the rhythm of the seasons, and honoring what the earth provides.

It reminds us that nature isn’t something apart from us; it’s something we belong to.

Being nachpikin is to move with the rhythm of the seasons, to see beauty in what grows nearby, and to create with gratitude for what the earth offers.

Born in New York, on the ancestral lands of the Lenni-Lenape people, nachpikin carries forward a spirit of connection between people, plants, and place. We honor the Lenape communities, past and present, whose deep relationship with this land continues to inspire what it means to live by nature.

Natural. Local. Purposeful.

Two children, a boy and a girl, stand in a field of yellow flowers. The boy is holding a small bouquet of pink and white flowers and looks away. The girl, wearing glasses and a white dress with pink trim, is smiling and looking at the flowers.

What we do

At nachpikin, we turn the idea of being by nature into something living and real.

Local Gardens, Local Scents
We partner with home gardeners, community plots, and estates to gather the flowers and herbs that define our region: lavender, chamomile, mint, sage, and more.

Hands and Hearts of the Next Generation
Children take part in every step. They learn how to harvest, dry, and transform these plants into simple, natural products such as lavender sachets, floral soaps, herbal teas, beeswax candles, honey, and pressed-flower art.

Craft with Purpose
We provide the space, tools, and guidance for creation. Gardens that contribute receive credits toward the finished products. Children receive recognition and experience, not wages, as a reminder that joy and learning are their own rewards.

Giving Back
Every sale supports Nachpikin’s educational programs, garden partnerships, and community nature projects. Our goal is to help more children grow up with their hands in the soil and their hearts open to the world around them.
